Owie

Ouch....

I got beat up pretty good today when I tryed to catch some air at the Seven Springs resort downhilling course. I'd been doing fine up untill the 8th run down the montain when I took an alternate ending trail that I thought had one big jump. Turned out there were two small jumps and I was booking it by the time I hit the second.

When you crash you don't remember what happened or what exactly when through your head before you hit. It all comes back to you about an hour later including a couple snapshots of before your head hits the ground (fortunately I had on a helmet).

I skidded maby 20 feet, part of it on my bare back because my shirt pulled up. It hurt alot.

What happened was when I hit the second jump (which I thought to myself as I did: "where did THAT come from" because I thought there were only two) I was going way to fast and slammed down on my seat which I now need to replace. As I sat down in a hurry like that all the momentum transfered to my legs and threw my feet off the pedals so I was completely helpless as I attempted to fly for the first time. I've now decided flying should be left to professionals and birds. When I touched down my bike bucked me forwards over the handlbars as it swung to the left and got in front of me somehow. The single thing I can remember seeing of the crash was a frame of my hands out in front of me pushing my bike away as the ground rose up. Then I hit and skidded following my bike. Yeah it must have been pretty spectacular to see (and there were witnesses). Fortunatly all the good bikers there were probably thinking "yeah I've done that" if what my buddy tells me is true. I personally don't think that any of them were and were instead laughing at me but I really don't care.

I'm going to put pictures up but not of the worst bruise because it's right above my boxers and the only picture I have right now includes the boxers in all their polkadotted glory.

To give you an Idea of the worst bruise I cropped the boxers out of the picture, It's at the base of the lumbars on my left side. It's two and a half inches across and three high and it hurt like hot fire.

Oh and BTW: I'm going to go do it again when I heal.
